Autumn meeting in Slovakia 2009 November 8th-11th

 

We arrived in the afternoon - evening and after check in att the wonderful Smolenice Castle we hade a lovely dinner and a lot of socialising among the delegates.

 

Day 1:

FEDFA meeting in the castle was followed by a number of different presentations on deer farming.
In the afternoon we visited Xcell Breeding Services where Jaroslav Pokardi presented their breedning work. We also visited a huge exhibition of deer antlers.

In the evening we had a lovely dinner at a new wine factory. There was also an interesting exhibition og modern art. After dinner wee tried to have a short formal FEDFA meeting.

 

Day 2:

We travelled b y bus and visited two deer farms on our way down to "the heart of Slovakia" - and the Tatra Mountains. There we were guest of S:t Hubertus - a regional hunters association. Here FEDFA president was asked to open a new hunting exhibition. In the evening a really good dinner with a lot of entertainment (music) was performed by local musicians. Our guest also showed spectacular photos and video from the Tarta Mountains.

 

Day 3:

After a visit to a local deer farm we all split up to go to Bratislava or Wienna for furhter transport back home.

 

A really memorable meeting and we thank the Slovakian Deer Farmers Ass. for an very enjoyable time in their country. We also thank al the sponsors.
